The American Specialties Company was founded January 1, 1984 by Ronnie Davidson. Middle Georgia Fireplaces was founded in 1980 by Donnie Davidson. The Davidsons believed that each company complimented the other; therefore, they decided to merge the two companies in 1989 and elected to take the name American Specialties Company, Inc.

American Specialties was originally geared toward the residential market, which included the sale of such items as windows, doors, hardware, fireplaces, mantels, gas logs and related accessories. Since that time, garage doors, hollow metal doors, lighting, artwork and other home accessories have been added to the line of products, while the company also has begun extensively servicing commercial builders in addition to the residential market. American Specialties is committed to continuing to provide quality products and superior service to builders and retail customers alike.
